The Benefits of Laser Over Contact Lenses and Glasses

Laser vision correction has several advantages over contact lenses and glasses. In this article, we explore several such advantages.

‍

1. Laser vision correction is a permanent solution to vision problems.

Unlike contact lenses or glasses, which need to be replaced or adjusted frequently, laser vision

correction provides a long-term solution. This means that you do not have to worry

about replacing their lenses or glasses every few months, which can be expensive

and time-consuming.

‍

2. Laser vision correction can provide better vision than contact lenses or glasses.

This is because laser vision correction reshapes the cornea of the eye, which allows light

to enter the eye more accurately and corrects even minor irregularities that cannot

be corrected with glasses or contact lenses. This results in clearer and sharper vision

than what can be achieved with contact lenses or glasses.

‍

3. Laser vision correction is more convenient than contact lenses or glasses.

Patients who undergo laser vision correction do not have to worry about carrying around

contact lens solution or glasses cases. They also do not have to worry about their

contact lenses drying out or their glasses getting scratched.

‍

4. Laser vision correction is more cost-effective than contact lenses or glasses in the

long run.

Although the upfront cost of laser vision correction may be higher than

that of contact lenses or glasses, it is a one-time expense that provides a permanent

solution to vision problems. Over time, the cost of replacing contact lenses or glasses

can add up and become more expensive than laser vision correction. Look at our

laser cost calculator to see how much you can save (link to calculator).

‍

5. Laser vision correction is safer than contact lenses.

Contact lenses can cause eye infections and other complications if they are not cleaned properly or if they are

worn for too long. Laser vision correction eliminates the need for contact lenses

altogether, which reduces the risk of eye infections and other complications. In one

large study, the risk of infection was higher after one year of contact lens use

compared to laser surgery.

‍

6. Laser vision correction has a high success rate and low risk of complications.

The procedure has been performed for over 20 years and on more than 30 million

individuals. It is important for patients to discuss potential risks with their surgeon

before undergoing the procedure.

‍

7. Laser vision correction can improve quality of life.

Patients don’t have to worry about contact lenses falling out during sports or important activities or breaking their

glasses. They also no longer have to worry about the inconvenience of carrying

around extra supplies such as contact lens solution or glass cases.

‍

If you are considering laser vision correction, it is important to consult with an experienced

surgeon who can provide you with more information about the procedure. View our laser pricing here.
